Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for an Electronics Instrument Control Technician to join the Plant Maintenance team at Vancouver General Hospital. Apply today to join our team!

As an Electronics Instrument Control Technician with VCH you will:
  • Repair, maintain, modify and commission electronic systems and electronic equipment including but not limited to computerized fire alarm and security systems, nurse calls, code blue calls, patient beds, operating room tables, and Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) using tools such as, but not limited to, screwdrivers and soldering irons, and testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes and function generators.
  • Perform on equipment/devices in accordance with applicable by-laws, codes and standards.
  • Make recommendations on the purchase/modifications of electronic equipment and estimates costs of labour and material.
  • Produce written reports, as built drawings, and recommendations as necessary.
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Graduate of a recognized diploma program in Electronic Technology plus three (3) years’ recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Certified as a Registered Fire Protection Technician by the Applied Science Technologist and Technicians of B.C. (ASTTBC).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
