We’re currently looking for a Driver-in-Training or a newly licensed DZ Driver to join our Fort Frances team. Whether you’re just starting your driving career or are recently licensed, this is a unique opportunity to receive hands-on training and mentorship from experienced professionals. You’ll play a key role in delivering essential waste and recycling services while developing the skills to advance your driving career at GFL.

What You’ll Do
  • Assist with the hauling of customer waste and recycling from industrial, commercial, and institutional sites
  • Learn and follow assigned daily routes and schedules under the supervision of experienced operators
  • Participate in pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Secure and transport containers safely to designated facilities
  • Operate equipment such as Roll-Off or Front-End trucks (with support and training)
  • Engage with customers in a professional, service-oriented manner
  • Practice and promote all GFL safety standards and municipal compliance protocols
  • Perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and lifting up to 50 lbs
What We’re Looking For
  • Completion of high school or equivalent
  • Valid DZ license (or enrolled in/completing DZ certification program)
  • Interest in pursuing a career in the transportation/environmental services industry
  • Willingness to learn and work in a physically demanding, hands-on role
  • Good communication skills and a customer-first attitude
  • Manual transmission experience an asset
  • AZ license an asset (but not required)
  • Experience with electronic logging or mobile dispatch systems is an asset
