Job Openings Digital Agency Project Manager - Web Development

Software International (SI) supplies technical talent to a variety of clients ranging from Fortune 100/500/1000 companies to small and mid-sized organizations in Canada/US.

We are currently looking for a Digital Agency Project Manager - Web Development for our global web development client.

This is a full time, permanent role.

Type: Permanent full-time

Location: Remote, Toronto, ON, Canada (must be able to work on EST)

Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Manager of Project Management Office, this role is responsible for the management and coordination of designated projects as directed by the business.
  • Facilitate all internal and external project activities as necessary to fulfill both short-term and long-term business objectives, with an eye to increasing the value of site offerings.
  • Provide project support to project team members, functional managers and the business.
  • Provide support to external project resources, including the Design group, Payment Processors, and 3rd party vendors.
  • Work with project team members to respond to, and as appropriate, resolve or escalate project risks.
  • Ensure/facilitate interdepartmental project communications, both verbally and through electronic means.
  • Ensure individual project conformance with overall Program Objectives.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of all projects under her/his leadership.
  • Work with project team members to ensure that all initiatives have clear success criteria, an execution plan (including resources), and an assessment of the delivery.
  • Coordinate resource assignment with PMO and functional managers according to current business priority.
  • Set and, as necessary, reset project goals in accordance with approved Change Management practices.
  • Communicate timely project status updates to the PMO, management team and clients as appropriate.
  • Create or monitor the creation of project assets, including: project definitions through requirements documentation, technical documentation (technical specifications, release/deployment plans, rollback plans, etc.), release scope portals (WIKI pages) for each planned project release, and JIRA support entries as necessary through the project lifecycle.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, issue logs and risk mitigation plans; track project tasks including resource assignment, estimation and status.
  • Provide leadership for production release activities, including impact/risk assessment, resource allocation/co-ordination, and sponsor/business communication.
  • Administer project management tools, including JIRA, Microsoft Project and the Project areas of the Internal WIKI.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum of 5+ years of project management/leadership experience in a digital agency required.
  • Must have at least 4 years experience in full software life cycle projects.
  • Minimum of 2 years of external client management experience is required.
  • Prior experience with website billing projects would be considered a strong asset.
  • Experience working with off-site project team members is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a software developer, systems analyst or business analyst is preferred.
  • Project Management experience on large/enterprise applications is required.
  • Preference for candidates with a demonstrated technical background in computer science and some practical experience in web programming.
  • Experience with Project Management tools such as Microsoft Project (or similar), as well as defect management software is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills (including conflict management) are required.
  • Must be able to clearly explain technical issues and constraints to non-technical people in both verbal and written communications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to speak comfortably to a variety of audiences.
