Diagnostic Account Manager – Veterinary Diagnostics (Field Role)

Full-Time | Interior BC & Fraser Valley (Surrey / Abbotsford / Chilliwack)

  • Field role - on the road 4 / 5 days per week including overnight

Our recruitment firm has been engaged by a leading global animal health organization to identify a Diagnostic Account Manager. The successful candidate will manage a defined geography of veterinary diagnostic customers, with a strong emphasis on delivering best-in-class in-clinic lab installations and actively promoting utilization in alignment with clinical guidelines.

This is a field-based role requiring significant autonomy, customer engagement, and travel. The territory covers Interior British Columbia and the Fraser Valley, with the preferred candidate based in Surrey, Abbotsford, or Chilliwack. Regular overnight travel (approx. 50%) is required, with key account support in Prince George.

Key Responsibilities

Territory Management & Customer Engagement

  • Manage veterinary practices within the assigned territory through regular on-site and virtual visits.
  • Conduct cyclical customer touchpoints to enhance utilization and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Deliver technical support, troubleshooting, and education to optimize use of diagnostic solutions.
  • Upsell and cross-sell diagnostic tools while maintaining a customer-first, consultative approach.

Installation, Onboarding & Training

  • Oversee installation and set-up of diagnostic devices, including connectivity with routers, network switches, and practice management software.
  • Facilitate customer onboarding through pre-install planning, in-clinic training, and ongoing support.
  • Deliver comprehensive clinic training sessions on sample preparation (, blood smears, urine), maintenance, and clinical application of diagnostic tools.
  • Support adoption of new technologies, including hematology, chemistry, and AI-powered diagnostic platforms.
Territory Operations & Reporting
  • Develop and execute a territory plan aligned with business objectives.
  • Coordinate resources, schedule calls, book travel, and manage expense reporting.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and provide timely updates to internal teams.
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy, accountable for customer outcomes and regional performance metrics.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in biological sciences, veterinary technology, or business.
  • Sales experience required; management experience an asset.
  • Hands-on clinical or technical background (veterinary technician or equivalent) strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, relationship-building, and consultative selling skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation abilities.
  • Knowledge of veterinary hospital operations, including lab and clinical procedures, staff training, and workflow.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate scientific / medical information.
  • Proficiency with technology, connectivity, and software integration.
