Overview
A global retail giant is expanding their Technology Project team and ishiring a ‘Deployment Consultant’ who will manage various new technology solutions and deployment activities for its retail locations across the GTA.
What you will be doing
- Identify and document technical requirements for various software, hardware and infrastructure solutions. Document related pilot and deployment approach
- Conduct knowledge-transfer and training sessions with outside partner/vendors’ technical resources
- Follow Technology Change Management procedures to introduce, communicate and execute changes
- Facilitate regular project meetings and follow up with team members (both internal and external) as required to focus on business and operational issues or technical issues
- Provide leadership to cross-functional and cross-vendor project teams
- Work closely with our business solutions partners to devise business and technology requirements, incorporate the requirements into contract agreements, assist in contract negotiations and execute appropriate POS and Back Office technology solutions
- Work with business solutions partners to ensure timely communication and resolution of installation deficiencies
- Work closely with internal Development and Quality Assurance teams to develop testing and pilot strategies and cases for new solutions
- Provide advice and guidance to internal clients (Operations, Field Service and Owner/Operators) on current hardware and software requirements and options to determine best fit for their technology needs
- Ensure thatDeploymentManager is kept informed of project progress and that issues are escalated appropriately in a timely manner
- Track progress on multiple projects and activities, reporting status to Directors and Vice President
- Post and update content on internal bilingual web site for a large and varied audience including Franchisees, Operations, Field Service and vendors
What you musthave
- 5 years relevant experience in the Retail industry,
- A detailed level of understanding of Retail technology, including POS systems
- A strong aptitude for project management, PMP certification a nice to have
- Experience with Agile principles (DASM certification, nice to have)
- Experience with vendor-management, contract negotiations and contract management
- Ability to identify, document and articulate business and technical requirements
- Demonstrated experience in executing contract agreements
- Experience in managing multiple outsourced resources and initiatives
- A high degree of initiative and commitment
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to drive strategies and results.
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Great computer skills using Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to prioritize competing initiatives within a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional leadership and teamwork skills.
