Job Summary

Customs and Logistics involves supporting various tasks related to customs compliance, transportation logistics, and supply chain management. In this role, the individual will gain valuable hands‑on experience, learn about industry best practices, and contribute to the efficient and compliant movement of goods within the company's supply chain.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assisting with Documentation: Helping to prepare and process customs documentation for importing and exporting goods, including verifying the accuracy of invoices, packing lists, and customs declarations. Learning how to complete various forms required for customs clearance, such as commercial invoices, bills of lading, and certificates of origin. Executes import/export documents and provides HS codes classifications for all plants when needed. Communicates with plant suppliers to request customs documents and ensure customs compliance. Schedule local shipments
  • Data Entry and Analysis: Assisting with data entry tasks related to inventory management, shipment tracking, and customs documentation. Learning how to analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvement in customs and logistics operations. Enter all repair orders and Timely and accurate bar code production, job cost input.
  • Supporting Compliance Efforts: Helping to ensure compliance with customs regulations, trade laws, and international shipping requirements by following established procedures and guidelines. Assisting in conducting internal audits or checks to ensure that customs documentation and processes meet regulatory standards. Ensures corporate compliance with Canada, Mexico and U.S. customs legislation.
  • Providing Administrative Support: Assisting with general administrative tasks such as answering phones, responding to emails, filing paperwork, and organizing documents related to customs and logistics operations. Liaises with U.S., Mexico and Canada Customs and brokers to ensure clearance of goods. Prepares all free trade agreement certificates and origin compliance documents of origin on behalf of the ABC plants in Canada and the USA and Mexico. Coordinate customs documents of special equipment moves as needed. Keeps the Customs & Traffic Supervisor updated on activities and supports when needed.
  • Contributing to Projects: Supporting special projects or initiatives aimed at improving customs clearance processes, optimizing transportation routes, or enhancing supply chain efficiency. Collaborating with team members to brainstorm ideas, gather data, and implement solutions to address challenges or opportunities in customs and logistics operations. Prepare USMCA and other Free Trade Agreements certificates from suppliers for all the plants in Canada and the USA and Mexico. Looks after LIVE loads at the border during working hours. Job Qualifications
  • Education: Any education that is in progress or recent grads who have completed any college or university program in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, Business Administration, or a related field is often preferred.

  • Computer proficiency: Familiarity with software applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Visual and PowerPoint, as well as logistics management systems and customs clearance software.
  • Adaptability: The willingness to learn and adapt to new processes, procedures, and regulations in the dynamic field of customs and logistics.
