Responsibilities
  • Oversee all finishing operations: staining, spraying, top coating, and hand-finishing
  • Develop and match custom finishes per architectural/design specs
  • Supervise and train finishing team (sprayers, sanders, preppers)
  • Maintain high-quality standards and ensure consistency across projects
  • Manage schedule, workflow, and resource planning for the paint shop
  • Monitor VOC compliance, safety, and spray booth maintenance
  • Collaborate with production and project management teams on timelines
  • Ensure detailed quality control and final finish inspections before shipment
Requirements
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in high-end architectural millwork finishing
  • At least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial finishing role
  • Expertise in multiple finishing systems: conversion varnish, polyurethane, glazes, high gloss, stains
  • Proven ability to develop and match custom finishes (both solvent and water-based)
  • Hands-on experience with spray booths and HVLP/LVLP equipment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to read shop drawings and interpret finish schedules
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset but not required
