Position Title: Critical Care Veterinarian
Reports to: Medical Director and Emergency Veterinarian Director
Department: Emergency, Critical Care
Status: Full-time Permanent (40 hours per week)

Overview

Are you a Board-Certified or Residency-Trained Criticalist (Emergency & Critical Care) looking for your next exciting chapter? Boreal Veterinary Centre in Edmonton, Alberta is seeking a Critical Care Specialist to join our collaborative and growing specialty and emergency hospital.

You’ll be joining an established emergency and critical care service, working alongside another Criticalist, ER veterinarians, highly skilled VTS ECC technologists, and a multidisciplinary specialty team. Together, you’ll help shape and grow a department that prioritizes patient outcomes, innovation, and compassionate client care.

With 24-hour staffing and access to state-of-the-art equipment — including CT, high-flow oxygen, endoscopy, ultrasound, and a comprehensive in-house laboratory — you’ll have everything you need to deliver exceptional critical care to our patients.

Position Summary

As our Critical Care Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering top-tier medical care to our patients and providing unparalleled service to our pet owners. Alongside another Criticalist, you’ll share in the leadership and development of the ECC service, providing mentorship, collaboration, and continuity of care.

We are on the lookout for a candidate with a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a strong work ethic. By joining our team at Boreal Veterinary Centre, you'll be exposed to a diverse caseload and the opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals including specialists in Anesthesiology, Oncology, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, and Surgery.
