General Function
The Corrosion EIT II role is a technical position with the Edmonton Operations team. The Corrosion EIT II is responsible for the creation of detailed reports, quality documentation, and the completion of data review and field support for the installation, commissioning, and survey of Cathodic Protection and AC Mitigation systems while meeting time/cost/quality/scope constraints. This position can perform low complexity jobs with minimal assistance. It is expected that assistance from more experienced staff would be required for more complex or high-risk projects. The individual can work independently with general supervision from their lead/manager. Due to their technical knowledge, they may be able to influence others within their job area through an explanation of facts, policies and practices.
Responsibilities
- Generate detailed technical reports, detailed design drawings, procedures, plans, and other required materials based upon client technical specifications, NACE standards and company established guidelines.
- Utilize engineering principles and corrosion theory to provide installation, commissioning, and maintenance direction for AC mitigation and cathodic protection systems in the forms of test plans and remote technical assistance for field staff.
- Coordinate and complete engineering tasks according to projects’ scopes and schedules.
- Work closely with the project managers to meet or exceed our customers’ expectations on time and within budget.
- Coordinate and create quality documentation for projects. Review completed quality documentation and provide feedback to technicians, team leads, and project managers
- Resolve engineering problems by collecting, reviewing, and analyzing data. Provide feedback on data quality to technicians, team leads, and project managers.
- Assist other team members on projects and ongoing tasks as necessary in a supportive and positive manner.
- Provide customer support and foster customer relationships.
- Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging engineering practices; participating in educational opportunities and professional organizations.
- Field work on site in support of projects may be required from time to time, completing tasks related to the installation, maintenance, and survey of cathodic protection and AC mitigation systems
- Active participation in the company Health and Safety program
Qualifications
- University graduate from an accredited engineering program.
- Is registered as an E.I.T. (Engineer in Training) with APEGA and is in good standing.
- Has obtained, at minimum, their NACE CP2 designation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Advanced oral and report writing skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
