Purpose of Role
The Corporate Sustainability Reporting & Strategy Integration Manager is responsible for assisting Fidelity Canada with its positioning and responsiveness to a growing number of expectations among internal and external stakeholders for transparent reporting and communications on Fidelity Canada’s Sustainability Strategy. The role will deliver strategic progress updates to key stakeholders via external disclosures and internal scorecarding. The role will also strengthen cross-functional collaboration with the broader business to further embed sustainability strategy into operations.
Key Accountabilities
Reporting and Assurance
- Develop multi-year Sustainability reporting roadmap, informed by corporate leader best practice and developments in the external reporting landscape.
- Lead the project management, production and distribution of key reports including Fidelity Canada’s annual Sustainability Report.
- Proactively manage content tracker, project timelines and workback schedules for all reports and ensure disclosure governance process followed (including scheduling reviews in exec leadership calendars).
- Proactively engage with subject matter experts in various business units to ensure the appropriate feedback is obtained and all relevant content is included in our various reports.
- Manage day to day communication and engagement with key internal and external reporting partners (e.g. Marketing Production) leading up to publication.
- Ensure reporting process documented and refreshed (e.g. reporting playbook) to document key contributor roles and responsibilities and internal review and governance workflows.
- Lead Sustainability assurance engagements with third-party vendors, ensuring appropriate internal stakeholder engagement.
- Develop independently, and through collaboration with business colleagues, management reporting on key metrics and updates on sustainability matters and initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communications
- Liaise with Corporate Affairs team to support the internal communication of Fidelity’s sustainability strategy.
- In conjunction with Corporate Affairs, develop sustainability content for corporate communication channels including corporate website and employee intranet.
- Lead completion of client questionnaires and documentation related to Corporate Sustainability strategy and progress.
- Work closely with Corporate Affairs to create collateral and communications on our sustainability strategy for advisors, clients, employees and other stakeholders.
- Provide timely, valuable information and insight to client-facing teams on our sustainability strategy to help win and maintain business.
- Work in conjunction with Corporate Affairs to support the VP, Institutional Distribution & Corporate Sustainability and Executive VP, Institutional in representing Fidelity at external sustainability events and forums, including preparing briefing notes, liaising with stakeholders, and coordinating required follow-up.
- Support biennial stakeholder materiality validation exercises and interpretation of results, recommending any strategy focus area updates.
Strategy Integration
- In close collaboration with Corporate Sustainability Risk Manager, establish and run sustainability opportunities identification and management process
- In close collaboration with Manager, Corporate Sustainability, co-lead:quarterly working sessions with strategic focus area owners;semi-annual touchpoints with foundational focus area owners.
- Lead other cross-functional collaboration sessions with corporate accounting (regulatory reporting preparation) and Finance Decision Support (alignment w/ business planning & core business strategy).
What We’re Looking For
- Technical knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks including CSDS, ISSB, TCFD, SASBand disclosure expectations and trends is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in sustainability-related internal and external stakeholder engagement.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate and engage with a wide range of stakeholders across the organization, achieving desired outcomes through influence.
- Experience using cloud-based sustainability reporting and data management software such as Workiva ESG.
- Experience working in the Financial Industry is an asset.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Expertise You Bring
- 4+ years’ experience in sustainability reporting and strategy role.
- University degree (bachelor’s degree) or equivalent work experience.
Nice to have
- PMP and/or ESG certifications in progress or completion.
- CPA designation.
- Sustainability reporting credentials (e.g. Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting FSA credential / Certified Sustainability Reporting Manager credential).

For this role, your total rewards include:
- Base Salary: A competitive annual range of $90,000 to $110,000 based on your experience and qualifications.
