We’re looking for our next Corporate Accountant – 12 month contract. Could It Be You?
Reporting into the Senior Corporate Accountant, Corporate Accounting, the contract Corporate Accountant is responsible for various internal and external financial reporting including the preparation and submission of financial statements, preparation of commentary to support the financial statements and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of said financial information via creation and population of the quarterly ‘audit file’. They will support the business with strong financial accounting knowledge in a multi GAAP environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and report quarterly actual, forecasting, and annual plan figures on a local and group accounting basis.
  • Review actual results against forecast & plan, preparing variance analyses where appropriate.
  • Analyse and produce commentary on financial statement movements and drivers.
  • Complete various home office reporting requirements and schedules including submission of data through the company’s accounting & reporting systems.
  • Preparation and calculation of income and other taxes and assist in tax filings.
  • Prepare and submit various statistical and regulatory surveys as required by government or regulatory agencies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with requirements.
  • Support team in the preparation of quarterly deliverables where needed, such as CFO presentation slides and solvency/MCT position.
  • Assist in departmental, company, and global projects as required with a focus on ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Other ad hoc tasks as reasonably assigned.
Qualifications

Specifically, we’re looking for the following qualifications:

  • University or College degree, pursuing a professional designation e.g. CPA or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience.
  • Proficient in Excel and Power Query.
  • Proven ability to deliver high quality results and meeting deadlines.
  • Proven ability to problem solve independently.
  • Excellent communication and thrives in a collaborative environment.
  • Aptitude for figures and strong analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI and SAP is an asset.
  • Treasury/investment experience is an asset.
