A healthcare organization in Nova Scotia is seeking a Cook's Helper to prepare fresh menu items for patients. Responsibilities include ingredient control, food safety, and customer service within a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have Grade 12 or equivalent and one year of relevant experience. This temporary full-time role offers $23.26 - $25.84 hourly, with approximately 75 hours bi-weekly in a unionized environment.
The Cook's Helper is responsible for preparing fresh to order room service menu items for patients, clients and customers within a fast paced line cooking team environment. The Cook’s Helper is responsible for the ingredient control of recipes which includes the measuring and portioning of recipe ingredients and the production of food items for the patient menu. The Cook’s Helper is also responsible for following: cost control procedures, safe food handling procedures, therapeutic, allergy and menu standards, and providing overall customer service according to departmental standards.
