A leading community support organization in Nova Scotia seeks a Continuing Care Assistant to provide personal care and assist clients with daily living activities in their homes. The role involves helping with grooming, meal preparation, and mobility assistance. Candidates must hold a valid Continuing Care Assistant Certification and current CPR/First Aid certification. Requisition Details: Employment Status: Permanent, Part-time (0.6 FTE) Weekends. Program: Home Support. Work Schedule: Friday, Saturday & Sunday or Saturday, Sunday & Monday days, with an evening rotation. Bi-weekly Hours: 48 (6 x 8 hour shifts). Union/Bargaining Unit: NSGEU. This role requires a detail-oriented approach in a dynamic environment, with physical activity including lifting, carrying (using proper techniques), bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements that emphasize good body mechanics. Individuals in the role are required to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day, with some tasks requiring fine hand movements.
