An Assistant SupportedGroup Living Counsellor may request a transfer by submitting a Request forTransfer from Human Resources by the closing date of the advertisement
The CochraneTemiskaming Resource Centre (CTRC) is seeking an Assistant Supported Group Living Counselor to join its team in Porcupine. CTRC is a regionaldevelopmental services provider offering programs across the Districts ofTemiskaming and Cochrane including coastal communities along James and HudsonBay. The successful candidate will work in a community supported group livinghome offering supports to individuals with developmental disabilities. Supportsinclude providing assistance with activities of daily living, leisure,recreational, interpersonal interactions, medical and personal care. Assistant GroupLiving Counsellors work collaboratively with different team members including SupportedGroup Living Counsellors, a Registered Nurse, Psychological and Speech ServicesStaff, and Client Support Workers. Assistant Supported Group Living Counsellorsreport to a Supported Group Living Supervisor.
Part Time employees are offered a defined pension plan with the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) and areeligible from hire date to join the plan. Extended Health Benefits (80% of drugcosts) Life insurance ($25,000), dental ($1,500/yr.), vision ($300/24 months), andpara-medical coverage ($400/year). Flexible shifts (e.g., 2-4-6-8-10-12 hoursduring a 24 hour period).
Part-Time Employees may be scheduled up to 56hours every 2 weeks and may accept extra shifts offered. Shift premiums (extra$0.60/hr. for evening shifts, extra $0.65/hr. for night shifts and an extra$0.32/hr. on Saturdays and Sundays with evening and nigh shift premiums stillpaid.) Overtime paid after daily limit of 12 hours. Personal Emergency Days asper ESA and Collective Agreement.
Thosewith a sincere interest and ability to work with individuals who have adevelopmental disability will be considered. Preferably a diploma or degree inthe human services field or a Personal Support Worker Certificate. Persons witha keen interest and one year’s experience in this area will also be considered.Dependability, maturity and a responsible attitude are necessary. Possession ofan updated Standard First Aid certificate (including Heart Saver CPR) and CPI,or willingness to obtain such is also necessary. A valid Class G driver’slicense is essential. Bilingualism is an asset.
Wage: $27.31-27.81 per hour
