A local government organization in Burnaby is looking for a Clerk Typist 3 to perform various clerical duties essential to supporting the RCMP Community Programs. The successful candidate will execute tasks like typing, maintaining records, and responding to public inquiries. This temporary full-time position offers a monthly salary between $4,486 and $5,270, and requires high school graduation along with relevant experience. We are looking for an individual with excellent communication, interpersonal and clerical skills to join our team. This is moderately complex clerical work supporting various roles and programs within the RCMP Community Programs and senior management team by relieving professional and other staff of administrative detail. The individual is involved independent typing and clerical duties of comparable responsibility. A Clerk Typist 3 plans, produces a variety of material; prepares, processes and maintains and/or supervises the preparation, processing and maintenance of a large volume of records, files, and documents pertaining to departmental activities. This position will enter, revise, update and retrieve information using various computer software programs including PRIME and Microsoft Suite. This position relays incoming information and data to appropriate recipients, amends master files as required, and performing other routine tasks. Acts as a receptionist; answers questions over the telephone, in person and by email; explains and interprets moderately complex departmental rules, regulations and procedures to public enquiries. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications: up to high school graduation including or supplemented by courses in word processing and standard commercial subjects and considerable experience as a Clerk Typist II; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Knowledge of the methods, practices and procedures used in operating applicable software programs such as PRIME to enter, revise, update and retrieve information. Ability to produce moderately complex statements, reports, lists and documents required in the operations of the department concerned; to compose non-routine letters and memoranda; to prepare, process and maintain a variety of related materials; skill in typing rapidly and accurately. The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance.
This is a Temporary Full Time position until July 22, 2027.
