Overview

Citizens Advice Braintree & South Essex (CABSE) is seeking an inspirational and self-motivated Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation and continue to develop CABSE. CABSE is a well regarded local independent charity providing free, impartial and confidential information, advice and guidance to 20,000 people per annum.

Role details
  • Position : Chief Executive Officer (Full-Time)
  • Hours : 37 hours per week
  • Salary : Up to £55,000 gross per annum FTE – depending on experience
  • Location : Hybrid – offices in Basildon, Braintree, Brentwood, Castle Point, Rochford and Thurrock
  • Contract : Permanent
Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop CABSE’s strategy, operations and impact in the local communities it serves (Basildon, Braintree, Brentwood, Castle Point, Rochford and Thurrock).
  • Ensure delivery of free, impartial and confidential information, advice and guidance to the local population (approximately 20,000 people per year).
  • Provide inspirational leadership to staff and volunteers; promote safeguarding and organisational welfare.
  • Represent CABSE externally to funders, partners and the public, and maintain strong governance and financial stewardship.
Qualifications and requirements
  • An experienced Citizens Advice professional, a Senior Manager with experience in other parts of the voluntary sector, or someone with an outstanding track record seeking a career change.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality of opportunity and welfare of clients and staff / volunteers.
  • Subject to a DBS check, satisfactory references and must meet HMRC requirements to be considered a ‘Fit & Proper person’.
