Job summary

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the overall maintenance of the building and grounds.
  • Ensure all required checks are executed, logged, and documented.
  • Maintain the building in a safe and operable condition.
  • Execute work orders and preventative maintenance.
  • Perform painting and touch-ups as needed.
  • Prioritize items needing attention and repair.
  • Support the fire safety program.
  • Clear sidewalks and patios of ice and snow in winter.

Overview

Position: Casual Maintenance Worker

Location: Prairie Lake Seniors Community, Grande Prairie, AB

Salary: $19.51 - $24/hr

Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of the Site Leader and the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Worker is responsible to assist in the overall maintenance of the building and grounds. The responsibilities of the position include:
  • Ensuring that all required checks are executed, promptly logged and documented.
  • Assist in maintaining the building in a safe and operable condition.
  • Executing on work orders, preventative maintenance using the Maintenance Care computer program.
  • Painting of vacant suites and touch ups in common areas.
  • Prioritizing items needing attention and repair.
  • Supporting the fire safety program for the home.
  • Ensuring in the winter that sidewalks, patios and all exit areas are clear of ice and snow; shoveling/sanding and salting as required.
Qualifications
  • Must Haves:
  • Relevant training and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience (would be preferred).
  • Computer skills.
  • Effective verbal and written English communication, organization and interpersonal skills is required.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • WHMIS training and Occupational Health and Safety Certifications are assets.
