Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Operations Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Supervising, overseeing, and participating when needed in operations taking place on the car deck, such as vessel mooring, ship-to-ship cargo movement, forklift operations, etc.
  • Keeping the operations manager updated regularly on the progress and submitting suggestions on how to improve the procedures or the safety of any operations
  • Coordinating and supervising car deck team members
  • Assessing and minimizing risk to all individuals working on the car deck
  • Conducting regular safety inspections and ensuring the safety and security of the car deck and all individuals working within
  • Keeping all car deck documentation up to date and completing reports
  • Liaising and coordinating with the client, assisting with cargo movements
  • Making sure the car deck is clean, arranged, and in a presentable condition
  • Ensuring all work permits are completed before any tasks that require one
  • Ordering material for car deck operations in advance to avoid any interference with the daily operations
Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a floating food service platform or cruise ship environment
  • STCW Basic Safety Courses
  • Seafarer's Medical Certificate
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to ensure compliance.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Working Conditions
