Your Role as Baker

As a Baker at COBS Bread, you will uphold our freshness commitment. Bakers start each day with an empty bakery, which is filled with artisan bread and treats for the community. We are seeking personable Bakers to share their love of fresh bread with our loyal customers. No experience necessary—just the right attitude and willingness to learn.

What Your Day Looks Like

  • Work as part of a small team to bake each morning, following carefully crafted recipes.
  • Maintain bakery cleanliness and contribute to a positive customer experience.
  • Read production schedules and recipes, measure and mix ingredients, mould and shape dough, and operate ovens.
  • Be an early riser capable of working independently within a small team.
  • Start as early as 4:00 am daily.
  • Be flexible and willing to work overtime.
  • Work weekends when scheduled.
  • Take pride in what COBS offers the community.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and good organizational skills.
  • Commit to the success of your team, the bakery, and your personal development.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk continuously during tasks.
  • Lift and carry up to 22 kg frequently.
  • Perform frequent turning and reaching.
  • Occasionally push, pull, and bend forward.
  • Lift at least 2.5 kg to a height of 1.7 meters.
  • Use both hands constantly, with frequent wrist rotation and flexing; occasional forceful gripping.
