Overview

Bemac Collision Group has supported Ottawa drivers for over 60 years, offering quality craftsmanship and award-winning customer experience. We are looking for an Automotive Service Technician.

Responsibilities
  • Keep shop and work areas clean
  • Service and repair customer vehicles
  • Provide estimates for tire and parts replacement on vehicles
  • Keep oil and all chemicals stocked
  • Keep inventory of all shop supplies up to date and stocked
  • Perform and inspect vehicles for Ontario Safety Inspection
  • Report any issues to the Mechanical Supervisor
  • Complete estimate sheet (SOP) for body shop collision estimates and email them to appropriate personnel
  • Keep equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; completing preventive maintenance such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, and replacing filters
  • Maintain vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components
  • Verify vehicle serviceability by conducting road tests, adjusting controls and systems
  • Comply with provincial vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards
  • Maintain vehicle records by recording service and repairs
  • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
  • Contain costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options
