The Associate Team Lead, Business Banking, is responsible for supporting the Team Lead, Business Banking with the Business Banking (BB) market strategy by leading, overseeing, and providing strategic direction to the Canadian Business Banking sales force within their defined territory. This role ensures business strategies, plans, and initiatives are executed in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Lead a team of Business Advisors (BAs) to deliver business performance and drive sales pipeline for a defined territory
  • Manage day-to-day sales operations and activities of Advisors
  • Support the Team Lead to provide adequate credit support with moderately complex deals and assist in high-value client interaction
  • Coach, develop, and upskill Advisors
  • Deliver formal performance reviews and support career growth
  • Ensure sales practices are compliant with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Moody’s Certificate in Business Banking
  • Advanced knowledge of sales and service management activities and techniques, including execution of BB management disciplines
  • Proven track record in delivering results in a fast-paced, agile sales environment with strong leadership and coaching skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to partner at more senior levels and effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders
  • Thorough knowledge of people and performance management techniques, with experience in coaching and developing talent
  • Expert knowledge of applicable systems (i.e., Sales Builder, Salesforce)
  • Thorough knowledge of BB credit risk/adjudication policies and processes
  • Thorough knowledge of policies and procedures associated with the setup and administration of financial products, services, and employee profiles
  • Working knowledge of products and services provided by the Bank’s specialized sales forces and other delivery channels, such as Wealth Management, Retail Advisors, and Commercial Banking
  • Ability to lead and drive a client-focused culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
