What is the opportunity?

The Capital Markets Data Services team is seeking an Associate / Senior Data Analyst to join our Data Reporting function. Data Services ensures Capital Markets data is complete, accurate, and fit-for-purpose to meet business and regulatory requirements.

In this role, you will be the critical link between data and decision‑making. You'll be responsible for designing and maintaining dashboards, analyzing complex datasets, and translating business requirements into actionable insights that drive strategic decision‑making across the organization. You'll design, deliver, and optimize business intelligence solutions to meet business and operational stakeholder requirements, as well as measure data quality health, identify improvement opportunities, and provide executives with actionable insights to drive strategic priorities. This position offers high visibility with leadership and the opportunity to shape how our organization measures and optimizes its data.

What will you do?
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Front Office, Operations, Finance, Risk, Technology etc. to understand requirements, propose suggestions based on Capital Markets knowledge and expertise, and deliver integrated solutions
  • Design, build, and maintain executive dashboards and visualizations in Tableau to provide key business and operational insights and to track data quality metrics, inclusive of materiality measures
  • Transform complex data patterns into compelling narratives and strategic recommendations that influence decision‑making for leadership
  • Perform analysis on large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and root causes of data quality issues, translating findings into risk mitigation strategies and operational improvements
  • Conduct data discovery and profiling to identify appropriate data sources for reporting purposes and write SQL queries to extract and transform data
  • Apply statistical methods and analytical frameworks to benchmark performance and forecast trends
  • Build end‑to‑end reporting solutions including data extraction, transformation, modeling, and visualization using SQL, Tableau, and ETL best practices
  • Optimize existing reports and data pipelines for performance, accuracy, and scalability
  • Establish and maintain metadata management practices
  • Lead forums with senior stakeholders to present insights, gather requirements, and ensure alignment between reporting solutions and business priorities
  • Create professional presentations and documentation that effectively communicate complex data scenarios to both technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Stay current with industry best practices in business intelligence, data visualization, and performance management
  • Recommend and implement process enhancements to improve reporting efficiency and data governance maturity
  • Contribute to bank‑wide data initiatives and strategic planning efforts
What do you need to succeed?
Must‑have:
  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in business intelligence, operations, data analysis, or financial services
  • Advanced proficiency in Tableau for dashboard development and data storytelling
  • Strong SQL programming skills for complex queries, data extraction, and analysis of large datasets
  • Proven experience with ETL processes and data modelling techniques
  • Strong quantitative and problem‑solving skills with ability to analyze large data volumes and synthesize insights
  • Experience applying data visualization principles and dashboard design best practices
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and reporting solutions
  • Solid understanding of data governance principles, data quality frameworks, and metadata management
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience presenting to leadership
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and PowerPoint for executive presentations
Nice‑to‑have:
  • Experience with Python for advanced analytics and automation
  • Knowledge of Capital Markets products, trading lifecycles, or market/reference data
  • Familiarity with data science methodologies (machine learning, pattern recognition)
  • Background in business intelligence, consulting, strategic planning, or process improvement initiatives
  • Experience with data governance tools or enterprise data management platforms
