Job Description

Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, the Assistant Plant Supervisor will be a results-driven, self-starter who is always looking for opportunities for improvement, and has the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team in providing superior customer service.
• Ensure the safe and effective operation of the facility.
• Identify and implement Continuous Improvement projects to support objectives.
• Manage inventory control.
• Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and complete the appropriate documentation.
• Support the Supervisor with daily production activities such as scheduling, planning, staffing, blending, loading, and other plant operations.
• Oversee preventative and planned maintenance of plant equipment.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Supervisory skills required.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and strong analytical skills.
• Strong can-do attitude and growth mindset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Mechanical aptitude; experience in manufacturing or fertilizer operations is an asset.
• Ability to work variable hours during peak seasons.
• Experience in an agricultural environment is an asset.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
