Responsibilities
- Patient preparation for dental work
- Sterilizing and sanitizing equipment, arranging instrument trays, getting things ready, and helping with dental operations can all contribute to infection control.
- Assisting dentists as necessary to handle medical and dental emergencies.
- Helping dental hygienists when they need it with procedures.
- Delivering excellent patient care.
- Updating patient records with therapy information.
- Dental x-ray equipment maintenance and exposure from dental diagnostics.
- Providing patients with information about oral health care, plaque control strategies, and dental cleanliness.
- Collecting and documenting patient vital signs, medical, and dental histories.
- Delivering the dentist’s postoperative instructions.
- Maintaining dental equipment.
- Maintaining a stock of dental equipment and placing orders for dental supplies.
- Creating unique impressions and temporary restorations from initial impressions.
Requirements
- Anauthorizeddentalassistingprogrammayawardcertificationoranassociatedegree.
- Accreditationfordentalx-rays.
- Equivalenttoahighschooldiploma.
- Programfordentalhygienecompletion.
