Join our team at Trail Appliances as a Service Technician, where you'll play a vital role in diagnosing and repairing appliances in our customers’ homes. Whether you're a certified technician or working toward your certification, this position offers hands-on experience, mentorship, and the opportunity to grow in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

You’ll be responsible for evaluating appliance issues, completing repairs using manufacturer documentation, and delivering an exceptional service experience aligned with Trail’s

values.


As a Service Technician, you will:
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and repair a wide range of appliances (laundry, kitchen, refrigeration).
  • Recommend and order required parts for effective repairs.
  • Complete and submit all paperwork (repair reports, parts usage, etc.) in a timely manner per company standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and work environment.
  • Provide professional and courteous service at all customer touchpoints.
  • Use service manuals and bulletins to perform accurate diagnostics.
  • Communicate repair findings clearly to customers and escalate concerns as needed.
  • Follow all health and safety standards and maintain equipment in safe working conditions.
  • Support junior apprentices and actively engage in training opportunities.
To be successful in this role you should:
  • Have a Appliance Service Technician Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) or enrollment in a registered apprenticeship program through SkilledTradesBC.
  • Have a certificate from an accredited institution (e.g., Kwantlen Polytechnic University, BCIT) if applicable.
  • Have a Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean abstract.
  • Have a “C” Gas Ticket issued by Technical Safety BC (required for gas appliance repair).
  • Have CFC/ODS (Refrigerant Handling) Certification, from a recognized provider (e.g., HRAI or BCIT).
  • Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience servicing major appliance brands.
  • Have a proven mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Experience with sealed system repairs (refrigeration units) is an asset.
  • Have an exceptional communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Be Detail-oriented with a customer-first attitude.
