Overview

The Team Leader is directly responsible for coordinating and supervising all required aircraft maintenance activities. The goal is to keep aircraft serviceable, meeting operational requirements and adhering to Transport Canada and Air Canada airworthiness standards.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise maintenance activities to maintain serviceable aircraft that meet operation requirements while satisfying Transport Canada and Air Canada airworthiness standards.
  • Plan, manage, and control aircraft maintenance as it is performed.
  • Allocate resources to meet the assigned workload and corporate schedule.
  • Monitor air-to-ground VHF communication.
  • Discuss delays, incidents, situations, and issues with departments represented in the Station Operations Control Centre (STOC).
  • Record delays, incidents, accidents and other related maintenance messages into the required maintenance system and consult with Maintenance Operations Control, System Operation Control, Operations Managers and Hangar Team Leaders regarding incoming snags and aircraft faults.
  • Coordinate messages from other departments represented in STOC.
  • Communicate with flight operations at departure gate concerning aircraft serviceability, ensuring a timely and efficient continuation of service.
  • Communicate with all ramp maintenance staff.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications
  • Must hold a valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) or equivalent.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, facilitating teamwork and focusing on success.
  • Shift work is required for this position.
  • Successfully obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit.
  • Must have a full valid driver’s license.
  • Sound technical and working knowledge of maintenance processes, procedures, and information technology systems relevant to the specific work area.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Can work effectively in a stressful environment.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Can work independently.
  • Thorough understanding of line maintenance aircraft check procedures is an asset.
  • Proficiency with PC (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is an asset.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast‑paced environment.
