About this role

Join University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust in transforming Head & Neck Cancer care. We offer a part‑time (15 hrs per week) Band 7 Advanced Dietitian position based in Eastbourne/Brighton, within our new Head & Neck Radiotherapy service. You will take lead in establishing this service at a new site, working with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred nutrition care.

Main duties
  • Deliver comprehensive nutritional management to head and neck cancer patients.
  • Facilitate enteral and home enteral feeding, including audits and quality improvement.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and CPD to junior staff.
  • Lead cross‑site partnership working and contribute to service development, risk management and research.
  • Attend MDMs, clinics and contribute to clinical governance.
Person specification
Essential requirements
  • BSc/MSc/PhD or equivalent in Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Extensive CPD relevant to the post.
  • Experience of supervising and developing staff.
  • Experience working within oncology/Head & Neck teams.
Desirable qualifications
  • Student Clinical Educator course.
  • Proven teaching and presentation skills.
  • Member of a relevant oncology body (e.g. BDA Oncology Group/BAHNO).
  • Training in motivational interviewing and behaviour change.
  • Audit and research experience.
  • Experience of working in Head & Neck teams and cross‑site partnership working.

Salary and contract

Permanent contract, part‑time (15 hrs per week) – £47,810 to £54,710 per annum, pro‑rata.
