Job summary

A global engineering group is seeking an experienced engineer to be responsible for the engineering, design, and production release of Chassis components. Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science degree in relevant engineering fields and at least 2 years of experience, particularly in Active Damping Control Module Development. Eligibility to work in the U.S. is mandatory, and the position is located in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Strong communication skills and knowledge of automotive communication protocols are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Automotive, or Systems Engineering.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in Active Damping Control Module Development.
  • 2+ years of experience with electronic control unit development.
  • Knowledge of Active Damping systems.
  • Calibration and diagnostic experience using typical automotive controls system development environments.
  • Intermediate knowledge in automotive communication protocols.
  • Intermediate knowledge in automotive vehicle electrical system architectures.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles, electrical hardware, and software design concepts.
  • Knowledge of testing and validation tools.
  • Proven record of interpreting requirements from design to production.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Job Description
  • Responsible for the engineering, design, development, timing, and production release of Chassis components and/or systems

  • Interface with Suppliers, Purchasing, and support Quality and Assembly Plants to develop Active Damping Control Module EC

  • Manage product electrical requirements to ensure vehicle and component-level functional targets are met, while supporting cost and weight targets

  • Develop and maintain software and electronic hardware development timing for feature rollout and performance goal milestones according to organizational development timing

  • Manage supplier and internal DVPRs and DFMEAs, including:

    • Tracking electronic hardware and software/feature validation activities and related bug-fixes

    • Defining and coordinating with stakeholders on electronics hardware or software root cause and countermeasures in case of issues and delays

    • Coordinating electronic HW/SW releases, ensuring alignment with validation and vehicle build activities

    • Approving applicable test results and related deviations

  • Support AQP, PSO, product launch, and problem resolution during vehicle launch gates

  • Knowledge of Active Damping systems

  • Calibration and diagnostic experience using typical automotive controls system development environments

  • Intermediate knowledge in automotive communication protocols (CAN networks, Electrical/EMC requirements, Environmental requirements, FMEA, functional safety analysis – ISO 26262 norm, etc.)

  • Intermediate knowledge in automotive vehicle electrical system architectures

  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles, electrical hardware, and software design concepts

  • Knowledge of testing and validation tools

  • Proven record of interpreting requirements from design to production

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
