Faculty - Occupational Therapy Assistant, Education

Lunenburg Campus, Bridgewater, Nova Scotia

Auxiliary Full-Time Position (60%): Commencing approximately August 25, 2025 and ending approximately December 27, 2027. Application deadline: 11:59 PM August 21, 2025. Competition No. 2526 - 176(b).

The salary scale for NSCC Faculty is based on steps that range from $74,170.79 to $102,223.12 prorated to 60%. New Faculty may receive up to a maximum of nine steps with potential additional steps for relevant experience.

What you’ll do
  • Provide theoretical and practical instruction in the Occupational Therapy Assistant - Physiotherapy Assistant program.
  • Collaboratively design and deliver educational experiences for a diverse group of learners, including preparation, instruction, assessment and evaluation using a broad range of teaching practices and technologies (e.g., Learning Management Systems such as Brightspace, and classroom technology).
  • Engage in related duties including academic and career advisement, committee participation, curriculum revision, work-integrations/placements, liaison with business and industry, and upholding NSCC policies and procedures.
  • Ensure health and safety practices in classrooms, shops and labs.
  • Maintain currency with current industry practices and evolving teaching methods; may teach across different delivery modalities and work hours, including weekends and evenings.
What you’ll need

Qualifications and Occupational Experience :

  • University degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized school and registration with the relevant licensing body.
  • Minimum of five years (full-time equivalent) of recent related Occupational Therapy experience; current good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia. Supervisory/monitoring/assessment/advising experience is an asset.
  • Familiar with computer applications (Microsoft Office, email) and basic internet skills; comfortable working in a digital environment and using technology to enhance the student experience.
  • Experience liaising with business and industry; ideally with experience delivering educational programs or training to adults.
  • Knowledge and experience in WHMIS, occupational health and safety, and occupation-specific safety practices.
  • Comfortable using multimedia technologies and online/blended learning platforms; ability to teach in online/blended environments and willingness to participate in training for this delivery model if needed.
