A global digital transformation company is seeking a Backend Developer - Pleno to enhance ML features and backend systems. You will work with Python, FastAPI, and various databases while collaborating with data scientists in a remote setting. A minimum of 2 years of backend engineering experience is required, along with strong skills in containerization and database management. This position provides an inclusive work environment focused on professional growth.
Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to understand requirements for ML / LLM features. Design, implement, maintain, improve, and document backend systems (Python, FastAPI) for ML / LLM features. Manage and optimize databases (Postgres, MongoDB, Milvus) for application storage. Improve observability and reliability for distributed, async workloads (structured logging, metrics, retry / backoff strategies, traces). Help maintain and orchestrate containerized development workflows (uv, Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes) and CI checks. Raise the bar for testing (unit + integration) to ensure high code quality and reliability. Improve the local development experience for the team by establishing and promoting Python-based development standards and best practices. Integrate and optimize calls to LLM APIs (OpenAI) and agentic frameworks (OpenAI Agents SDK). Mentor other engineers and drive architectural decisions.
