The Procurement Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the procurement and supply of all raw material commodities, including raw fruit and sugar, to support Graceland Fruit’s operational, financial, and growth objectives. This role manages supplier relationships, negotiates high-impact contracts, and ensures continuity of supply across a complex, seasonal, and global commodity landscape. This person also leads a team of Commodity Managers and collaborates cross-functionally to drive efficiency, cost optimization, and long-term strategic planning.

Work with the VP of Sales & Marketing to develop and implement sales strategies that result in meeting or exceeding corporate sales and profitability goals in collaboration with other members across the organization.

Job Duties
  • Lead the procurement function for raw fruit commodities and key ingredients, ensuring consistent supply to meet production and sales forecasts while managing to annual procurement budget.
  • Develop and execute a multi-year Strategic Commodity Plan aligned with corporate goals, budget targets and evolving market dynamics.
  • Analyze global commodity markets, harvest outlooks, and pricing trends to inform long-term purchasing strategy, cost forecasting and budget-aligned risk mitigation.
  • Cultivate and manage key partnerships, ensuring reliability, quality, and competitive pricing.
  • Negotiate complex contracts, including pricing models, supply commitments, payment structures & terms.
  • Maintain accountability for performance metrics related to supplier delivery, cost savings, and quality compliance.
  • Partner with Operations, Finance, Quality Assurance, and Sales to align procurement strategies with business needs.
  • Coordinate with production planning teams to ensure raw material availability aligns with dynamic scheduling needs.
  • Oversee the integrity of procurement-related data within the ERP system (item master, vendor profiles, pricing, CRM, etc.).
  • Maintain up-to-date food safety and quality documentation from suppliers in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Direct and mentor Commodity Managers, setting clear goals and fostering a high-performance, accountable culture.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and supply chain activities.
  • Professionally represents Graceland Fruit in industry and community-based organizations.
Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (Business major preferred) along with a minimum of five (5) years of procurement / commodity management experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in commodity sourcing, supplier negotiation, and contract management.
  • Proven leadership and team development experience with the ability to coach and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a track record of delivering cost savings and operational improvements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems; experience with supply chain software/tools preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
