The role

The Junior Legal Counsel will work closely with the General Counsel and play a key role in working on Peridot’s complex and sophisticated commercial financing business, investment, and other corporate matters to ensure Peridot’s legal needs are fully met. The position is based in Brazil and includes continuous interaction with the General Counsel in New York, and colleagues and business partners located worldwide.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Assist in drafting, reviewing, and supporting negotiating of commercial agreements and legal contracts, including trade financing agreements, loan documents, guarantees, vendor contracts, NDAs, and related financing documents.
• Assist with legal entity administration and support corporate governance activities across multiple countries, including helping prepare organizational and compliance filing materials.
• Support legal entity administration and maintain compliance record for local operations.
• Assist in drafting and reviewing statutory and other corporate documents and provide basic support on corporate law matters under supervision.
• Coordinate with internal business and operations including credit, tax, treasury, operations, etc. in connection with legal reviews.
• Conduct basic legal research and provide guidance on regulatory requirements applicable to Peridot’s business globally.
• Correspond with local counsel regarding documentation and team questions and coordinate review by such counsel.

What You Bring to the Team

• Fluent Portuguese, English and Spanish
• Bachelor or university degree in law (or equivalent)
• Work experience: 1 year of experience in legal support, contracts or corporate law
• Basic knowledge of contract law and corporate governance
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
