THE POSITION
The Head of Brand & Marketing at FWWC27 LTDA, which is FIFA’s Brazilian subsidiary responsible for the delivery of FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 Brazil (TM), will be tasked to guide and implement brand and marketing plans, campaigns and activations in line with the marketing & communication strategy. This role is critical to the success of the first ever FIFA Women’s World Cup to be held in South America with a vision to unite the world through an unprecedented experience that celebrates and elevates women’s football.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as an extension to, and be part of the global MBBI (Marketing, Brand, Business Intelligence) team based in Zurich with dual reporting lines, for being a key representative to all Brand, Marketing and Promotion Tournament matters.
- This person and department will be responsible for all promotional aspects including any communications designed and required to support the commercial and marketing objectives of the tournament
- Be the main liaison for Host Country and Host City representatives, tournament executive leadership representing the MBBI team.
- Lead the local, regional and national delivery of various marketing campaigns and initiatives related to, and beyond identified tournament milestones
- Lead a team of brand & marketing professionals on the ground, and ensure seamless cooperation, collaboration and integration with all relevant functional areas at FWWC27 LTDA and FIFA’s head office in Zurich, as well as any other functional areas such as legal, finance, etc.
- Identify and communicate opportunities to create dedicated local, regional or national promotional activities that support the objectives of the tournament, the marketing strategy, or any relevant stakeholders such as commercial partners, media partners, host cities, and others.
- Identify and drive commercial value through the marketing of the tournament’s brand assets and intellectual property. This includes, but not limited to mascots, licensing & retail, the FIFA Fan Festival, the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 Trophy Tour, official music tracks/album/sonic identities, and other.
- Contribute to, and drive implementation of ticketing & hospitality go-to-market strategy and activations plans
- Establish and maintain strong and impactful relationships with relevant partners, celebrities, influencers, key event organizers, agencies, etc.
- Manage and maintain budget and liaise with the relevant colleagues in Zurich in all matters budget and spend.
- Oversee the correct implementation and utilization of all in-market tournament brand asset implementations and applications including, but not limited to, event and stadium dressing, experiential marketing applications, retail branding, and any other use of the brand assets by FIFA’s internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage procurement and legal processes (in compliance with FWWC27 LTDA policies and guidelines) as it relates to the tendering and contracting of local, regional or national suppliers, service providers, agencies, and other.
- Manage and deliver all necessary reporting measures related to the tournament
- Drive and manage effective communications between the relevant functional areas and, in particular with the MBBI team in Zurich.
YOUR PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree or similar higher education in marketing, or a marketing related discipline
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a relevant leadership position(s)
- Proven experience delivering major brand & marketing plans
- Experience in the sports and/or entertainment industry is a major plus
- Experience working in a global or international environment
- Proven track record in managing a team in a matrix or similar structure
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills and the ability to manage up, down and sideways.
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Profound knowledge of Brazilian and South American markets and culture
- Ability to work to deadlines and stress resilient
- Financial and budget management
- Right to work in Brazil
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Fluent in Portuguese (spoken and written)
- Ability to re-locate to Rio de Janeiro
