About the Role

Our client is a forward-thinking NYC-based design agency working with a diverse portfolio of brands across multiple industries. They are looking to collaborate with a Senior Freelance Designer to support ongoing client projects, primarily focused on web, visual, and digital design.

This role is ideal for a senior, hands-on designer who is comfortable working in client-facing, agency-style environments, managing multiple projects, and delivering high-quality design solutions from concept to execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and other designers, to deliver effective design solutions aligned with client goals.
• Lead visual and web design efforts across websites, landing pages, microsites, and digital brand assets.
• Create wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and prototypes using tools such as Figma or Sketch.
• Develop and maintain visual systems, style guides, and brand consistency across digital and print materials.
• Design marketing assets including presentations, social media visuals, email assets, and campaign materials.
• Ensure designs are optimized for both desktop and mobile experiences, following UI / UX best practices.
• Participate in client reviews and presentations, clearly communicating design concepts and rationale.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment.
• Work closely with development teams to ensure accurate design handoff and implementation.

Required Qualifications

• 8–15 years of professional experience in Web Design, Visual Design, and / or Graphic Design.
• Strong portfolio showcasing a range of digital, web, and visual design projects (portfolio required).
• Advanced proficiency with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Solid understanding of UI / UX principles, responsive design, and usability best practices.
• Experience working in agency or client-facing environments.
• Ability to work independently as a freelancer or contractor, managing priorities and timelines effectively.
• Strong communication skills and comfort presenting work to clients and stakeholders.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Nice to Have

• Previous experience working with U.S.-based clients or international teams.
• Background in branding and design systems.
• Experience mentoring or providing guidance to junior designers.
• Familiarity with motion, interaction design, or basic front-end concepts (HTML / CSS) is a plus.
