Hatch is seeking an impact-driven Climate Change Regional Lead to advance decarbonization solutions and climate resilience across South America. This is a unique opportunity for a strategic and entrepreneurial leader to drive climate action in the metals, energy and infrastructure sectors.

In this role you will:

  • Lead Hatch’s climate change consulting and engineering services in South America, including but not limited to Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Peru
  • Drive regional growth, team development, and financial performance
  • Build and maintain client relationships across metals, energy, and infrastructure sectors in decarbonization and resilience
  • Collaborate with regional business unit and business practice teams on external and internal climate change activities
  • Lead engagements related to climate-related disclosures, decarbonization planning, climate policy, carbon markets, low-carbon products, and climate risk
  • Manage engineering studies related to carbon and energy management, electrification, biochar and biocarbon, hydrogen, carbon capture, carbon dioxide removal, and adaptation
  • Seek out opportunities to communicate Hatch’s differentiated service offerings and represent Hatch in conferences and other client-facing opportunities

What you bring:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in project management, technical business development, and/or engineering leadership
  • At least 3 years of technical experience in climate change mitigation, decarbonization, and/or adaptation
  • Graduate degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Proven experience in the metals, energy, and infrastructure sectors
  • Demonstrated expertise in climate-related disclosures, decarbonization planning, climate policy, carbon markets, low-carbon product development, and climate risk assessment
  • Strong understanding of regional climate policy and market drivers within relevant industry contexts
  • Specialized knowledge in one or more of the following areas is considered an asset:
  • Carbon and energy management
  • Process and heating electrification
  • Biochar and biocarbon production and use
  • Hydrogen production and integration
  • Carbon capture, utilization, and storage
  • Climate adaptation
  • Experience leading capital project studies in senior technical or management roles
  • Proven ability to manage teams and collaborate effectively with integrated global teams
  • Strong client relationship management and business development capabilities
  • The ideal candidate is a business leader and team builder with a well-established professional network
  • Professional fluency in English
  • Professional fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese
  • Collaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutions
