A public safety organization is seeking a Fire Communications Officer to manage emergency calls and dispatch resources across Queensland. Candidates should have a valid Blue Card, Australian Citizenship, and the ability to obtain a Certificate III in Public Safety. The role involves risk assessment and resource coordination to ensure effective responses to emergencies. This is a permanent part-time position with training opportunities available.
The Queensland Fire Department is seeking expressions of interest for future Fire Communications Officer campaigns. Fire Communications Officer roles are offered on a Permanent Part-Time basis only, with the exception of Central Region – Rockhampton, where roles are offered as Permanent Full-Time.

Location: There are seven Fire Communications Centres across Queensland, including FireCom Southport, FireCom Brisbane, FireCom Toowoomba, FireCom Kawana, FireCom Rockhampton, FireCom Townsville, and FireCom Cairns.
About Us: The Queensland Fire Department provides fire prevention, preparedness, and response services to Queensland communities. The department encompasses Queensland Fire and Rescue, Rural Fire Service Queensland, and works together to pre-empt, prevent, mitigate, and manage the consequences of fires and other emergencies.
Purpose of the role: The Fire Communications centres are responsible for emergency call taking, dispatching on-scene communications, coordinating and managing QFD resources. Staff are trained in incident management systems, hazardous materials, and technical rescue operations.
