Job summary
A leading internet marketplace company is seeking an Associate in Accounting & Reporting to join their EMEA Reporting & Compliance Team in Dubai. Responsibilities include managing daily accounting operations, supporting financial statement preparation, and overseeing junior staff. Candidates should be fluent in Arabic and English with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 2+ years of relevant experience. This is an independent contractor position with an immediate start.

Our client, one of the worlds leading Internet Marketplace Platform companies, is currently hiring for an Associate, Accounting & Reporting to to join their EMEA Reporting & Compliance Team.
- Manage daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and ensure their availability for CIT return filings.
- Oversee junior staff involved in journal postings to prevent inaccuracies.
- Ensure timely provision of data for transfer pricing local files, collaborating with internal teams and responding to continuous follow-ups.
- Address and rectify discrepancies in intercompany transactions, ensuring proper documentation and booking.
- Assist in establishing controls over journal entry postings and ensure all data sent to the team is reviewed by senior personnel.
- Maintain a calendar for ongoing audits of financial statements, coordinating with the CT team on expected timelines for audit report availability.
- Support the CT team in owning accounting journals, including tax-related entries, ensuring alignment with the tax team.
- Fluent in Arabic and English
- 2+ years relevant professional experience
- A strong understanding of fundamental accounting concepts, principles and tax
- Team player, have ability to work independently and willingness to take on challenges
- Strong communication skills and ability to communicate key information and status to stakeholders
- Ability to interact with all departments and levels throughout our organisation
- Excellent project and time management skills, ability to prioritise and multitask
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA / CA / ACCA / equivalent qualification preferred
This is an immediate start contract position for a minimum period of 6 months, which may extend up to 2 years.
This is an Independent contractor engagement and you would be responsible for paying all necessary taxes in‑country.
