Contract Librarian in Zayed City, UAE. We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Contract Librarian to join our team. As a Contract Librarian, you will be responsible for assisting with the daily operations of our library, including cataloging and organizing materials, providing reference services to patrons, and maintaining the library's collection. You will also have the opportunity to work on various projects and initiatives to enhance the library's resources and services.
To be successful in this role, you must have excellent communication skills in English and possess a passion for helping others access information. While prior experience is not required, candidates with a degree in Library Science or related fields will be preferred.
- Assist with organizing and cataloging materials according to the library's standards
- Provide reference services to patrons by helping them locate resources and answer their inquiries
- Maintain accurate records of library transactions and assist with circulation duties
- Monitor and maintain the library's physical space, including shelving books and maintaining a clean environment
- Collaborate with other librarians on projects such as creating displays or developing new programs for patrons
- Stay up-to-date with current trends in library science and implement new ideas to improve services
- Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient operations of the library
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of library software systems
