Research Assistant (Biocomposites)
Job summary
A leading educational institution in the UAE is looking for a Research Assistant in the Chemical and Petroleum Engineering department. The ideal candidate will be involved in biocomposite research, fabricating and characterizing materials, and presenting findings at national and international conferences. Applicants should have a relevant educational background and experience in material science or polymer composites. This temporary role promises skill development under reputable supervision.
Qualifications
- Educational degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in research related to biocomposites.
- Technical writing proficiency with publication records.
Responsibilities
- Prepare raw materials from Biomass.
- Characterize the biomass.
- Fabricate and characterize biocomposites and nanocomposites.
- Test materials using advanced equipment.
- Present research results at conferences and publish in journals.
Skills
Education
The Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at College of Engineering, United Arab Emirates University Calls Application for Research Assistant to work in the field of biocomposites. The candidate will be supported by a research grant for four months and it will further extend on the basis of performance of candidates and the selected candidate will work under the supervision of Professor Mohammad Jawaid.
- Preparation of raw materials from Biomass
- Characterisation of biomass
- Fabrication and Characterization of biocomposites and nanocomposites
- Testing of materials and biocomposites/nanocomposites by using advance equipments
- Present and report research results at national and international conferences and publish scientific results in peer‑reviewed Q1 journals
An appropriate educational degree supplemented with documented evidence to support the following:
- Skilled in Material science/Polymer composites
- Research experience in Fabrication and Characterization of biocomposites/nanocomposites
- Ability to characterize composites and nanocomposites
- Good technical writing skills and good Publication records
- Flexible approach and initiative in executing the role.
- Material science/Polymer composites background or any related area
- Demonstrable willingness to support work in the lab
- Be adaptable and flexible to the continuous changes associated with research demands
- Commitment to provide a safe and healthy workplace
