Job summary
A recruitment consultancy in the UAE is seeking an Engineer or Inspector to oversee testing of construction materials. Candidates should have substantial experience in infrastructure projects and relevant qualifications. Responsibilities include conducting tests, ensuring material quality, and coordinating with contractors. Strong communication skills and knowledge of safety procedures are essential. This role demands professional expertise in quality assurance in the construction industry.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years experience in construction of bridges, roads, infrastructure and irrigation projects (Inspector).
- Minimum 8 years experience in construction of bridges, roads, infrastructure and irrigation projects (Engineer).
- Prior RTA or Dubai Central Laboratory Approval is required.
Responsibilities
- Witness all laboratory and in-situ tests conducted by the contractor.
- Coordinate with the Work Inspector to confirm approval for testing.
- Perform sampling and testing efficiently to avoid delays.

Education
- Witness all laboratory and in-situ tests conducted by the contractor or third-party testers on materials and prepare samples for testing.
- Coordinate with the Work Inspector in charge to confirm approval of work for testing and address any concerns.
- Perform sampling and testing efficiently to avoid delays in the contractors operations.
- Conduct regular checks on delivered materials to ensure conformance with approved sources or suppliers.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance processes.
- Review and approve testing and acceptance of materials used in the project.
- Inspector — Diploma or associate degree in engineering
- Engineer — Degree in Engineering
- Inspector — Minimum 7 years experience in construction of bridges, roads, infrastructure and irrigation projects
- Engineer — Minimum 8 years experience in construction of bridges, roads, infrastructure and irrigation projects

- Proven experience in materials/QA/QC within the construction industry
- Knowledge of laboratory and field-testing procedures for construction materials
- Ability to perform material sampling and testing efficiently and accurately
- Good communication skills for coordinating with contractors, inspectors and engineers
- Experience in quality control and assurance processes
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations on construction sites
