Assists patients, families, and significant others with their psychological, social, environmental, financial, and emotional problems by conducting the needed psychosocial assessments related to presenting problems/concerns, providing the necessary interventions to enhance patient quality of living.

1. Managerial
   1. Involved in daily management of workload allocation within the specialist area, considering changing demands and prioritizing caseloads.
   2. Potential supervision of junior staff, ensuring adherence to rules and policies.
2. Technical
   1. Manage care for vulnerable clients, including comprehensive assessments, social care planning, and resource identification.
   2. Coordinate delivery of social care plans and liaise with government or charity agencies.
   3. Conduct initial psychosocial assessments, develop care strategies, and update patient records as per JCI standards.
   4. Advocate for patients, ensuring their wishes are central in care planning.
   5. Address legal issues, liaising with authorities and providing necessary reports for safe discharge.
   6. Participate in safe decision-making for discharge planning.
   7. Collaborate with agencies and professionals to provide comprehensive care.
   8. Guide patients and families to appropriate resources and support.
   9. Follow up on psychiatric visits, document conditions, and maintain records.
   10. Respect patient rights, spiritual beliefs, and customs.
   11. Follow up on ER exempted cases, ensuring treatment coverage.
   12. Promote awareness of social work and anti-discriminatory practices.
   13. Network with professionals and organizations for service provision and resource access.
   14. Empower individuals and families, advocating for their rights and informed decisions.
   15. Maintain high standards of record-keeping and professional conduct.
   16. Manage exposure to distressing situations, maintaining mental resilience.
   17. Ensure confidentiality and compliance with legislation.
   18. Provide crisis interventions as needed.
   19. Participate in discharge planning and multidisciplinary team meetings.
   20. Deliver psychoeducation and therapeutic interventions as appropriate.
3. Quality & Safety
   1. Ensure compliance with safety and quality procedures.
   2. Maintain infection control and environmental safety standards.
   3. Ensure confidentiality of patient information.
   4. Comply with occupational health and safety policies.
   5. Assist in policy development and ensure SOP and QA standards are met.
   6. Participate in training, seminars, and professional development.
   7. Complete all regulatory requirements, including licensure and certifications.
   8. Engage in clinical supervision for professional growth.
4. Education
   1. Participate in training sessions, department committees, and staff meetings.
   2. Assist in onboarding new staff.
   3. Share information appropriately, maintaining confidentiality.
   4. Maintain ongoing professional development through education and seminars.
