The opportunity

You as a Senior Service Engineer - Protection will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Abu Dhabi United Arab Emirates. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work independently in the Grid Automation field with lots of opportunity to front technical discussions with customers and travel across UAE.

Responsibilities

• Managing and executing service works on Control and Protection systems according to workinstructions and in accordance with Hitachi Energyprocesses.
• Deliveringtop-notch high-quality customer service.
• Preparing method of statements risk assessments and site activity schedules.
• Supervising cubicle installation cable laying & termination works.
• Performing modification extension and upgrade works in HV substation protection systems including scheme checks component testing implementation of final settings trip test end to end test SAT energization checks etc.
• Managing customer and witness activities.
• Performing preventative and corrective maintenance works.
• Identifying technical problems and makeanalysis through remote or on-site activities in different areas (service installation and commissioning retrofits technical assistance).
• Preparing Visit Reports Service Reports Test Reports RCA etc. as required on the job.
• Working in close cooperation with the engineering team toidentify digital solutions and support the expansion of the service scope on theHitachi Energy installed base.
• Acting as resolution owner of the assigned customercases.
• Applying safety rules and safe practices as well as environmental responsibilities and reporting unsafe practices and incidents.

Qualifications

• A bachelors or masters degree in electrical engineering is required.
• Thorough knowledge of Substation Control & Protection philosophy principles and application concepts
• Minimum 10years of testing and commissioning experience on Main and Backup protection relays with knowledge of communication protocols.
• SCMS experience will be an advantage.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
