Senior Legal Counsel – Gulf Cooperation Council

Description

You’ll be working closely with the legal function’s worldwide subject-matter experts on local law issues and advising other stakeholders as well. You will need to have strong legal knowledge on a broad range of issues relating to Apple’s products and services. The successful candidate must have strong business acumen, excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to navigate tasks with lots of uncertainties and work with multiple stakeholders. You will lead your work with a mindset of enabling the business (while managing the legal risks). You must be highly motivated, proactive, highly collaborative, able to continuously learn and develop a deep understanding of any issues that may impact Apple’s business, highly adaptable in a dynamic work environment and able to adjust your communication style based on the audience you are addressing. You are expected to always be up to date on the latest legal developments. You may be required to engage with regulators and policymakers to support and advocate for Apple’s business in the Gulf Cooperation Council . Soft skills are key to your success in this role including but not limited to critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration and networking. Travel is essential.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Law or equivalent law degree.
  • Bar admission in at least one jurisdiction.
  • Eight or more years of experience at an international law firm and or in-house at a multinational company.
  • Deep expertise and understanding of laws and regulations in the Gulf Cooperation Council .
  • Fluent in Arabic and English written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in emerging markets.
  • Experience working with government agencies, regulators and other stakeholders in the region.
  • Proven ability to advise on complex legal and regulatory issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment on time sensitive issues.
  • Keen interest in regional developments and public policy issues.
