Our clients, living in a spacious villa in Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi are seeking a Governess / Nanny to focus on the educational, creative, athletic, and emotional development of their three (soon to be four) children in a beautiful private household setting.
The couple’s preference is for a Governess / Nanny to have a background in teaching and / or childcare, a degree in education or similar would be an added benefit.
A typical working week would be 6 days per week 7 : 00am to 7 : 30pm with a two-hour lunch break. Duties will include :
- Helping the parents prepare the children for the day, as well as supporting their evening routine
- Engaging with the children to determine their specific likes and dislikes and gauge their individual personalities
- Overseeing both the formal and informal education of the children - following the child’s curriculum and tutoring in appropriate subjects such as English, Arabic, Science, and Math
- Implementing age-specific and appropriate activities for the children, to ensure that they thrive developmentally, emotionally, physically, and academically
- Overseeing and organising the children’s activities, accompany them on school meets and events
- Assisting the parents and house maid in preparing meals and snacks
- Monitoring children to ensure their physical and emotional wellbeing, as well as alerting parents of any concerns such as behavioural problems
- Offering suggestions for improvements in the children’s educational, athletic, social, and creative development
- Helping with the social and cultural development of the children, encourage self-awareness and creativity, and promote good manners and etiquette
- Occasional evening babysitting
- International travel to countries including to Spain, Oman, USA, Asia, the Maldives, Dubai, etc (the family will assist with visa applications)
It is essential you have :
- A background in teaching and / or childcare, a degree in education or similar
- Relevant experience and have previously worked with a variety of age-groups
- Good written and spoken English and Arabic - primary language of the household is English. Mother speaks Spanish to the children. Arabic fluency is an important core of the children’s education. Any other languages would be a benefit. Father understands Arabic and can have basic conversations in Arabic
