Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced South Indian Chef specializing in traditional and contemporary dishes.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook hot dishes such as sauces, soups, main courses and accompaniments according to menu specifications and quality standards.
  • Assist in mise en place, portioning ingredients and assembly of menu items for service within the hot kitchen section.
  • Support Chef de Partie and other senior chefs in the efficient running of kitchen operations.
  • Maintain strict compliance with food safety, sanitation and hygiene regulations at all times.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and correctly; report defects or hazards as required.
  • Keep workstations, hot kitchen areas, equipment and storage areas clean, organised and presentable.
  • Adhere to recipe guidelines, portion control measures and wastage minimisation policies.
  • Participate in kitchen training, daily briefings and development sessions as directed by senior management.
  • Assist with stock rotation, labelling and day-to-day inventory management for hot kitchen ingredients.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience in a hot kitchen environment, ideally within high-end hotels, restaurants or private residences.
  • Strong foundation in basic cooking techniques such as sautéing, roasting, grilling and boiling.
  • Understanding of kitchen safety, HACCP procedures and allergen awareness.
  • Keen attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced multicultural team environment.
  • Flexible professional attitude with a willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required.
  • Good spoken English; additional language skills are an advantage.
