Role Overview

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for originating, structuring, and growing the bank’s supply chain finance and lending portfolio. This role focuses on winning new-to-bank clients, creating tailored working capital solutions, and driving adoption of Wio’s digital lending products. The ideal candidate will combine deep knowledge in trade, supply chain finance, digital lending products with strong business development skills to expand Wio’s footprint in the SME and corporate banking space.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute business acquisition strategies to generate new-to-bank lending business focused on supply chain finance.
  • Identify, engage, and build relationships with corporates, SMEs, and ecosystem partners, including anchor clients, distributors, fintechs, and marketplaces.
  • Structure and present supply chain finance solutions (receivables financing, payables financing, invoice discounting, etc.) tailored to client needs.
  • Collaborate with product, credit, and risk teams to ensure smooth onboarding and credit approval processes.
  • Drive deal origination, pipeline management, and conversion to help the bank achieve portfolio growth targets.
  • Promote digital lending capabilities by educating clients on Wio’s platform-based working capital solutions.
  • Monitor market trends, competition activity, and client needs to recommend new product features and partnerships in the supply chain finance space.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, credit risk frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written) is mandatory. Only Arabic-speaking applicants will be considered.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field; MBA or professional certification (CFA, ACT, etc.) preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in supply chain finance, trade finance, or business banking within financial services.
  • Proven expertise in originating and closing lending deals, particularly with new-to-bank clients.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain finance structures, working capital solutions, and risk assessment.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and grow networks with corporates, SMEs, and intermediaries.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
  • Digital-first mindset with comfort working in an agile, innovative, and technology-driven environment.
