Job Title: Accountant

Location: Dubai, UAE

Job Summary

We are currently partnering with one of our clients in Dubai, a leading company in the access automation and technology solutions sector, to hire an experienced Accountant. The role focuses on managing accounts receivables, corporate reporting, and sales analysis. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in the UAE, with a strong background in credit management, collections, and reporting within a fast-paced business environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers and monitor credit limits regularly.
  • Follow up with sales and customer care teams for overdue invoices within agreed timescales and maintain accurate records of all debt-chasing activities.
  • Handle disputed bills and negotiate to bring payments within agreed terms.
  • Ensure invoices are accurate and approved (GL code, VAT tax code, and revenue recognition adjustments for projects).
  • Process and allocate receipts and payments accurately and reconcile accounts to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Prepare monthly reports including sales flash, MEP for HFM submission, and internal sales analysis for management.
  • Assist in forecasts, budgets, and 3-year plan sales pack submission.
  • Provide regular updates to management regarding customer accounts and outstanding balances and deliver ad-hoc reports as required by the Sales Director.
  • Maintain positive relationships with sales teams and customers to facilitate smooth credit management processes and address and resolve customer queries regarding invoices and payments.
  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure VAT return filing (output tax) and compliance with corporate tax requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date policies on credit management, credit notes, and bank charges.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or CPA equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven accounting experience in the UAE.
  • Strong understanding of credit management and collections processes.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with familiarity in ERP accounting software (e.g., SAP B1).
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle challenging conversations.
