Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with strong knowledge of UAE VAT regulations, Corporate Tax requirements, financial reporting, and account reconciliation. The ideal candidate will manage the company’s day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring complete compliance with Federal Tax Authority (FTA) standards and UAE financial laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping and accounting records (AP/AR, general ledger, journals).
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Process invoices, payments, expense claims, and petty cash.
- Monitor cashflow and bank balances.
- UAE VAT Management
- Prepare and file VAT returns on time as per UAE FTA guidelines.
- Review input/output VAT for accuracy.
- Monitor zero-rated, exempt, and standard-rated transactions.
- Prepare voluntary disclosures when needed and maintain VAT audit files.
- Ensure VAT compliance across all operations, contracts, and invoices.
- UAE Corporate Tax (CT) Compliance
- Assist in corporate tax registration and preparation of annual CT returns.
- Ensure compliance with the UAE CT law, including deductible expenses, adjustments, and taxable income calculation.
- Maintain required corporate tax documentation (transfer pricing files, supporting schedules, financial statements).
- Coordinate with auditors and tax advisors for CT assessments.
- Reconciliation
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile supplier statements, customer ledgers, and inter-company accounts.
- Investigate discrepancies and ensure accurate closing of accounts.
- Reconcile inventory, shipments, and stock records (if applicable).
- Audit Support
- Prepare audit schedules and documentation for external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and UAE tax regulations.
- Implement internal controls to safeguard financial data.
- General Compliance & Admin
- Ensure compliance with FTA, Ministry of Economy, and other UAE authorities.
- Maintain proper filing of financial documents and records.
- Support management with financial analysis, budgeting, and cost control.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 3+ years UAE experience in accounting roles.
- Strong understanding of UAE VAT law, Corporate Tax law, and FTA regulations.
- Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
Technical Skills
- Experience with accounting software (Zoho Books, Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle).
- Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
- Ability to prepare VAT returns, corporate tax calculations, and reconciliations independently.
