Position Summary:

The Youth Staff Counselor is a dynamic member of the onboard youth program, actively promoting the Camp at Sea pillars of Art, Culinary, Recreation, and STEM. Working under the guidance of the Youth Program Manager, this role executes day‑to‑day youth activities (ages 3–17), toddler time, family programming, babysitting, holiday activations, and partnership activations. The Youth Staff Counselor ensures all activities are delivered according to Celebrity Cruises Standard Operating Procedures and USPH guidelines, exceeding hospitality standards while ensuring complete guest and team satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and age‑appropriate youth programs while maintaining safety and security
  • Assist in onboarding procedures and ensure childrens safety during muster and emergency drills
  • Supervise and support children with eating, resting, toileting, and personal habits
  • Maintain high visibility (floor presence) to observe operations and ensure safety compliance
  • Prepare activities and supplies efficiently while adhering to standards of cleanliness and safety
  • Support marketing efforts to maximize participation in youth programs
  • Assist with reports, letters, and point‑of‑sale functions as required
  • Attend training, meetings, and other work‑related activities as required
  • Serve as a positive role model, promoting leadership, friendliness, fairness, and open‑mindedness
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelors degree in Education, Recreation, or related field (or international equivalent preferred)
  • Minimum 3–5 years experience managing youth activities (ages 3–17)
  • Experience in youth groups, camps, or similar positions preferred
  • Vibrant, outgoing, and energetic personality with ability to engage groups
  • Strong customer service and problem‑solving skills
  • Effective communication and ability to work in a diverse team environment
  • Microphone / MC skills to host activities and manage large groups
  • Understanding of financial aspects of youth programs, including cost control and headcount management
  • CPR and lifesaving certification for infants/children preferred
  • Computer literate (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, internet)
