Overview

A leading logistics company situated in KwaZulu-Natal is urgently seeking the expertise of an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join their team.

Responsibilities

General Warehouse Duties:

  • Assist with loading and offloading of all cargo, stacking of cargo, documentation of all cargo, labelling of cartons for exports, repairing and restrapping of cargo
  • Keep a clean work environment
  • Make sure photos of cargo and truck are taken as per instructions

Staff Management and Operations:

  • The supervisor must plan accordingly as per instruction given by the Warehouse manager / assistant manager
  • Staff must be briefed on the daily cargo that is going to be received and dispatched
  • Follow up on staff regularly
  • Supervisor will be managing the storeroom and issuing of equipment and materials
  • Supervisor must maintain records of the stock
  • The supervisor will be responsible to maintain and check up on all equipment and materials and see to it that the staff do not misuse or damage equipment and materials
  • Coordinate activities with the other departments
  • Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative ways to encounter problems
  • Supervisor will assist with container inspections, inspection forms are completed and signed, etc.

Safety and Other Regulations:

  • Applying safety rules when conducting duties within the work environment
  • Report incidents or accidents immediately to ensure the smooth run of operations
  • Ensure company hygiene rules and regulations are in place and are followed by all employees
  • Ensure that the correct PPE is worn at all time by all staff working in the warehouse environment
  • Ensure that all staff adhere to the Company Health & Safety regulations & rules, if not address the matter with the specific employee immediately and report any incidents to the H&S officer and Warehouse manager

Processes and Procedures:

  • Ensure that all company policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Ensure that all processes and procedures are deployed accordingly in area of responsibility
Requirements
  • Diploma in Logistics/Supply Chain Management
  • 3 years experience in a similar role and logistics environment
